Cheboygan State Park: Joan’s out on the “beach” (more like a marsh, actually) on the edge of Duncan Bay, while I’m on the path between our campsite and the bay. We went looking for tiny frogs hiding amongst the rushes.
We’d soon head over to the long beach along the Straits, where we’d wander all afternoon. The beach walk included an exploration of the site of the original Cheboygan Point lighthouse.
Several pix I took on that walk were framed like this. Clearly I was deliberately making high-contrast photographs. Sometimes I do things like that.
In mid-July we hit the beaches. We make an overnight excursion to Ludington. We spend the day at South Haven, Saugatuck, or Norton Shores. We set up camp in Cheboygan. Or Harrisville. Or Port Austin. All the same: We’re at the beach.
Cheboygan, especially. We keep returning to Cheboygan.
