On This Date: Photo taken 1/15/2013.

Four years ago I slapped an adapter and a great old Minolta lens on my Nikon 1 V1 and spent a couple hours photographing birds in our front yard. The experience was more interesting than instructive.

I did get some fine pix.

I’m not really an old gear guy. But I have these old lenses from my Minolta days laying around, and the adapter was cheap. So I thought I’d try it out.

The trade was better lens reach–the Minolta lens about doubled the V1’s focal length–for a crippled camera. I could make it work, but really it wasn’t a practical setup.

Number of pix taken on various January 15ths: 324
Year of oldest photo: 2005

  • 5 Stars: 2
