Not a real ambitious book–it’s basically a set of pictures of the buildings at the TC hospital–but it accomplishes its limited mission extremely well. Well-selected photographs with relevant captions. And it’s unusually well organized.
Not very useful if you’re looking for an institutional history, and certainly doesn’t address anything regarding the treatment of the patients or the controversies inherent in state mental institutions. Just a fine tour of the campus, over the course of a century or so of constant change.
